Munnar, A place you must visit while your tour in Kerala,India

Hope you all find helpful my last post about "Places to Visit in Kochi,Kerala,india". Today i am going to share with you all about the places you must visit while you are in Munnar.

Munnar is a town and a hill station located in the Idukki district 126km from Kochi. While your journey to Munnar from Kochi,i will recommend you all to travel by car on road. You don't want to miss the view of your journey. It is situated at around 5,200ft above AMSL in the Western Ghats range of mountains. So, here are the places i visited while my stay in Munnar.

Tea Garden


Munnar is India's one of the best and renowned tea estate. Most of the plantation here done by Tata's Group Kannan Devan Tea Estate having more than 30 tea estates. Tourists can make a visit to the famous tea museum opened by Tata Tea Group.

 Water Falls

Munnar, "The Kashmir of South India" is blessed with some heavenly beautiful water falls. A few waterfalls in Munnar are-

You can enjoy the beauty of the Dams in Munnar and also can do Boating here. Most famous dams in Munnar are- "Kundala Dam Lake" and "Mattupetty Dam".

Top Station

"Top Station" in Munnar is a tourist destination in the border of Idukki district. You can get a beautiful view of Sunrise from here and get the whole area's top view, which is pure heavenly. On the way to "Top Station",you can experience The "Echo Point".

Rajamalai (Eravikulam) National Park Munnar

Eravikulam National Park located along with Western Ghats, is administrated by Kerala Department of Forests and Wildlife and many National Parks & Sanctuary.
You have to pay certain Entry Fee (Different for Indians,Foreigners & Childrens) and you also have to pay for photography and video recording.

Rose Garden

Rose Garden is a popular destination located in Mattupetty which is about 13 km away from Munnar Town. Rose Garden is one of the chief attractions of Mattupetty for its beautiful garden where different varieties and colors of roses can be found.  






Subramanya Temple, Munnar

Sri Subramanya Temple is a Hindu temple here. Lord Muruga is the principal deity. Thee poojas are held every day including "Usha Pooja" in the morning, "Ucha Pooja" in noon and "Athazha Pooja" in Evening time.
