Havelock Island is the largest and most popular island of the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is also Asia's one of the best beach with swimming elephants and unbreakable reef with white sandy beach. This island is located at 41 km northeast of the capital city Port Blair. Havelock Island is named after Sir Henry Havelock, who was a British General and also served in India. Havelock is one of the places in India, where India is promoting its Eco-Tourism. Having 6000+ population in this island, most of them are Bengali. Many of the settlers here have Bangladeshi origin who were given settlement by the Indian Government after the war between India vs Pakistan in 1971.
If you are a travel freak and want to hang out away from the city crowd and pollution, this is the best place to visit. Isolated from the mainland of India after reaching Port Blair airport, you can take ferries or private cruises to reach here. Local buses are also available here on hourly basis which connects the jetty and the villages. Helicopter services are also available here. Kalapathar Beach
Long streach of white silky sand and big black rocks, this beach got its name after the village Kalapathar. This beach is surrounded by the Kalapathar village. The name Kalapathar came from the unique big black rocks where, "Kala" means "Black" and "Pathar" means "Rock". This beach is also at the corner most of the island. Having tropical forest on the roadside and beach on the opposite, this place is one of the place, where you can relax and hang around all day long and dip into the sea water.

Radhanagar Beach
With beautiful blue watery sea and white sandy beach, Radhanagar Beach is the most famous beach of Andaman Island. It was crowned as "Asia's best beach" and "7th best beach in the world" by Time Magazine. Beautiful beach is lined by lush forest and palm trees. Any one can lie down the beach and enjoy the sun bath and the sunset or you can go in for a quick swim.
To reach here, you can take a sea plane or Makruzz from Port Blair. Government boats are also available which connect the Havelock and Port Blair.
