Places to Get The Best View of Kangchenjunga


When it comes about adventure, there is no other better destination than trekking a mountain. And the mecca of mountain is one and only "Himalaya". The Himalayan range has world's many of the highest peaks like- Mount Everest, K2, Kangchenjunga and many more. But, with having zero trekking experience, anyone can explore the towns at the Himalayan foot hills. As The Himalayas spread across India, Nepal, Bhutan, China and Pakistan; many people keep asking which place is the best to get the best view of those peaks.
I will share my experience of getting the best view of Kangchenjunga from different places.

Kangchenjunga, which lies partly in Nepal and partly in Sikkim,India was assumed to be the highest mountain in the world till 1852. It is also called as Five Treasures of Snow after its high five peaks. And it is also worshiped by the people of Darjeeling and Sikkim. To get the best views of Kangchenjunga, you have to travel through Darjeeling to Sikkim.

Tiger Hill
is the best place in Darjeeling to get the best view of Kangchenjunga. You should reach Tiger Hill by 4.30am. You can experience the changing colors on the snow peaks as the day light falls. As you approach the Mall Road, there are three viewing galleries, you can experience the sunrise and clear view of Kangchenjunga from there. During the day time, the peaks look shiny white. The best time to visit is the month of March-April, before monsoon starts and November-December after monsoon stops.

According to the many tourists, it has the best and closest view of Kangchenjunga. The best time of the view is before the sunrise and just before the sunset. This place is located about 10 km away from the district of Gyalshing.

Gangtok
is one of the renowned place which attracts many tourists from every part of the world every year. Trekking through Gangtok,Sikkim; you can get amazing views of Kangchenjunga. This place is well connected with New Jalpaiguri via train and bus. The best time to visit here and get the view of Kangchenjunga is November-December and March-April. You can get rooms here easily under tight budget.Though the best time for the view is when you reach the peak of it in the early morning, the view of sunset is also amazing.
