How To Start A Conversation In South East Asian Countries?


Who doesn't love traveling. But, when it comes travel around the world we start thinking about many obstacles even before leaving our house. So, before you start travelling, here is your few TIPS which I wrote some times back.

But according to me, the main problem we face while we are in other countries, is the language. So whenever you go some other country, a few words you should learn in their language. Everyone appreciates when you speak their language. Generally, we start conversation with someone addressing "Hi, How are you?". So today i am going to describe how to say that when you are travelling across South East Asia.

South East Asian Countries and Their Capitals


So, let's get started according to country wise:

1. Vietnam: "Chào. Bạn khỏe không?"

2. Thailand: "สวัสดี คุณเป็นอย่างไร? "(Swasdi. Khun pen xyangri?)

3. Singapore: Except English, three languages are spoken in Singapore.

Malay-- "Hi. Apa khabar?"
Tamil-- "வணக்கம். எப்படி இருக்கிறீர்கள்?" (Vanakkam. Eppati irukkirirkal?)
Standard Chinese/Mandarin-- "你好。你好吗?" (Ni hao. Ni hao ma?)

4. Philippines: "Hi. Kumusta ka?"

5. Mayanmar: "မင်္ဂလာပါ။ နေကောင်းလား?" (Min-ga'la pa. Nay kaung la?)

6. Malaysia: "Hi. Apa khabar?"

7. Laos: ສະ​ບາຍ​ດີ​ ເຈົ້າ​ສະ​ບາຍ​ດີ​ບໍ່​?” (Sah bai dee, jao sah bai dee boh?)

8. Indonesia: "Hai. Apa kabar?"

9.  East Timor: "Oi. Como você está?"

10. Cambodia:  "សួស្តី។ អ្នក​សុខសប្បាយ​ទេ?" (Suostei. Anak sokhasabbay te?)

11. Brunei Darussalam: "Hi. Apa khabar?"

Well, that's it for now. Now start travelling across South East Asia and meet with new people.
